Tax Update re Capital Allowances

THERE HAVE BEEN A NUMBER OF CHANGES TO THE CAPITAL ALLOWANCES REGIME - EFFECTIVE FROM 1 APRIL 2008 FOR COMPANIES AND 6 APRIL 2008 FOR SOLE TRADERS AND PARTNERSHIPS.

Capital allowances are the means by which a business can claim tax relief set against fixed assests. Despite the intention to simplify the rules, in fact as the situation can change each year it is therefore more complex. The new rules may have an effect on the valuation of property and assets for Insurance purposes, as well as your cash flow - we would recommend that you contact your tax adviser for further information

Weir invests in new claims support for our customers

We are soon launching a new claims service for all of our customers.

The service will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will provide quick response in the event you are unfortunte enough to have a motor accident.

We have collaborated with a local garage to ensure that all Weir Insurance customers are given priority service when they need it most - after a motor accident.

Immediate roadside recovery if required, and if your vehicle is drivable, we will come to you (at work or home) to look at your vehicle.

A mobile estimator will take full details of the damage to pass on to your insurer on your behalf.  A courtesy vehcile will always be provided to our customers free of charge (regardless of what the insurance policy covers) whilst their repairs are carried out to a very high standard.

Recovering expenses and costs from a responsible third party is also included in the service, along with a local reputable solicitor in the event of an injury or liability dispute.

We feel that this is the very least we can do for our customers who have shown us such loyalty over the years. So what better time to join us and enjoy all the extra benefits of having an independent professional insurance broker.
